The 100 Day Project

September is full of important dates for me, and maybe it has some significant dates for you, too

  • The start of spring according to some calendars

  • Father’s Day

  • My kid’s back-to-back birthdays because I was bad at maternity math

  • My best friend’s birthday

  • My dad’s birthday and the launch of my first book, Awkward is the New Brave

  • My dad’s departure from this earthly world.

So yes, September is just jam-packed with all the key dates in my world. Anyway, I have decided (I don’t know why, or maybe I do) that I am going to start recognising another day in September as significant.

September 22nd.

Why? Because it marks 100 days until the end of the year. And if there is anything that I have learned over the past few years, it is that consistency is key to anything. I have dreams and plans and ideas, and to be perfectly honest, the last few years I have been very very quiet on the content creation front.

So…I am setting myself a challenge to become visible again and get content happening … again. I have a few days to decide which platform, but it will need to be done in amongst work, university study, and all the things that come along with single parenting. It may just be this blog, right here. And if that is the case, it will be purposeful. I’ll work to write about this last big career transition I am working at pulling off - a move into marine biology, which means learning the language of science, with the goal of becoming an excellent science communicator.

Hopefully I can share what I learn as I go along, why I am passionate about it, and maybe along the way, help some other scientists to embrace their voice fully, and communicate with stakeholders in a way that other people understand.

So if by some Google or AI fluke, you happened upon this blog post, follow along. Let me know if you have a goal for the last 100 days of the year, and maybe we can be consistent together.

Nothing to lose, and everything to fight for.

Belle
